Resume Optimizer ("we", "our", or "the Service") provides an AI-powered tool that analyzes a user's resume against a job description and generates improvement recommendations.
We take user privacy seriously and have designed the Service to minimize the collection and storage of personal information wherever possible.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Information We Collect
1. Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Authentication information provided through login methods such as Google OAuth or email login
- Account identifiers required to operate the Service
This information is used solely to create and manage your account.
2. Payment Information
If you purchase a subscription or additional usage credits, payment processing is handled by Stripe.
We do not store or process your credit card information. Stripe may collect:
- Payment method details
- Billing information
- Transaction records
Stripe's use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.
3. Resume and Job Description Inputs
When using the Service, you may submit:
- Resume text
- Job descriptions
- Uploaded resume files (PDF, DOCX, TXT)
These inputs are used only to generate analysis results.
Important design principle:
We do not permanently store the resumes or job descriptions that you submit.
Inputs are processed by our AI provider and are not retained in our database.
4. Generated Analysis Data
To operate and improve the Service, we store limited output data including:
- Match scores
- Structured analysis results
- Token usage and system metadata
- Performance metrics such as latency
This information helps us maintain system performance and user entitlements.
We intentionally avoid storing full resume or job description content.
5. Usage and Technical Data
We may collect limited technical information such as:
- IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention)
- Request timing
- Error logs
- Browser and device information
This data is used to operate and secure the Service.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide resume analysis results
- Manage user accounts and subscriptions
- Process payments
- Enforce usage limits
- Improve product reliability and performance
- Prevent abuse or unauthorized use of the Service
We do not sell or rent personal information.
AI Processing
Resume Optimizer uses third-party AI providers to generate analysis results.
When you submit resume or job description content, that information is sent to the AI provider for processing.
We configure our providers to minimize retention of submitted data whenever possible.
Data Retention
We retain:
- Account information
- Subscription status
- Generated analysis results
- System usage metadata
We do not retain the original resume or job description text submitted by users.
Users may delete their accounts at any time.
Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards to protect the Service including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Secure authentication
- Limited internal data access
- Infrastructure hosted on trusted cloud providers
However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure providers including:
- Supabase (authentication and database)
- Vercel (hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- AI providers used to generate analysis results
Each provider maintains its own privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 16.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
